Weekly update: October 14th
In this week’s update we take you for a drive around on the Saigon in Saigon city’s hectic streets. We also give you a walkthrough of how the handlebar on the Saigon works as well as we go through the front and side lights.
Inspired to make a better urban environment
The SAIGON got its name from the city in which it's developed. Saigon or as it is formally named, Ho Chi Minh City, is a city of nine million people and is the place where much of the MODMO Team lives and works. We saw how Vietnamese people use a moped for literally everything and wanted to create an e-bike that can do the same. Because, imagine if we could change streets around the world from being covered with mopeds and cars filled with noise and exhaust fumes to being covered with clean and quiet SAIGON e-bikes.
The SAIGON Handlebar
At the center of the SAIGON experience is the handlebar. This is where you control this sophisticated bike. Watch the video where Martin does a walkthrough of how the control buttons work and what information the display gives you.
Head Lamp & Side Lights
It is very important for us at MODMO that our bike is safe and clearly visible. Therefore, the SAIGON has a head lamp that is visible from more than 200 meters away. One thing that is unique for SAIGON is our side lights that ensure that you’re visible from the side by lights instead of only from the front and rear. The lights also serve as indicators for your perimeter, which gives other bikers and motorists a much better chance of gauging a safe passing distance to you.

Im Update dieser Woche nehmen wir euch mit auf eine Fahrt durch die hektischen Straßen der Stadt Saigon. Wir zeigen euch auch, wie der Lenker des Saigons funktioniert und zeigen euch die Front- und Seitenlichter.
Inspiriert für eine bessere urbane Umwelt
Das SAIGON erhielt seinen Namen von der Stadt, in der es entwickelt wurde. Saigon, oder wie sie formell genannt wird, Ho Chi Minh Stadt. Es ist eine Stadt mit neun Millionen Einwohnern und ist der Ort, in dem ein Großteil des MODMO-Teams lebt und arbeitet. Wir haben gesehen, wie die Vietnamesen ein Moped für buchstäblich alles benutzen. Wir wollten ein E-Bike entwickeln, das dasselbe tun kann. Denn stellt euch mal vor, wir könnten die Straßen auf der ganzen Welt von lärm- und abgasbelasteten Mopeds und Autos zu sauberen und leisen SAIGON E-Bikes umbauen
Saigon Lenker
Im Mittelpunkt der Erfahrung mit dem SAIGON steht der Lenker. Hier kontrolliert ihr dieses anspruchsvolle Bike. Schaut euch das Video an in dem Martin euch erklärt, wie die Steuerknöpfe funktionieren und welche Informationen euch das Display liefert.
Front- und Seitenlicht
Für uns bei Modmo ist es sehr wichtig, dass unser Bike sicher und gut sichtbar ist. Deshalb hat das SAIGON ein Frontlicht, das aus mehr als 200 Metern Entfernung sichtbar ist. Eine Sache, die bei Modmo einzigartig ist, sind unsere Seitenlichter. Diese sorgen dafür, dass ihr von der Seite durch Lichter sichtbar seid und nicht nur von vorne und hinten. Die Lichter dienen auch als Blinker für eure Umgebung, was anderen Rad- und Autofahrern eine viel bessere Chance gibt, einen sicheren Passierabstand zu euch abzuschätzen.
